We Still Remember
September 11 will be one of those days that I will remember every detail of for the rest of my life. I remember waking up at 7:00 am and wondering why my mother did not wake me up for school. I remember going upstairs to see what was going on. I remember looking at the T.V in my parents room and realizing very slowly what was going on. I remember the shock of when at 7:28 am, I watched the second tower fall. I remember my mother telling me that I was not going to school that day. I remember being in a daze the entire day. It was unheard of. It was way too close to home. I was thousands of miles away but it was still on my home turf. This was the first major historic event of my lifetime and it will not be forgotten. Although I lived on the other side of the country and had never visited those two colossal buildings, it still hurt. I can only imagine the pain it caused for those who lived here, or those who had lost someone in those attacks. 2,974 innocent people were killed in one fell swoop. My heart goes out to them seven years later and forever.
